A pair of exquisite Japanese Bezique game markers, crafted circa 1900 during the Meiji period. Each rectangular marker is skillfully carved from wood, lacquered black, and adorned with 24-karat gold namiki. The central panels depict trees, plants, a crane, and a pigeon. The eight marker tabs are intricately carved in ivory, showcasing four insects and four birds in the challenging Shibayama technique. Both markers retain their original patina, making them a fantastic addition to your Bijouterie collection.
